Ohio consortium that includes GMIC wins state grant for glass
GMIC is proud to be part of the Northwest Ohio Innovation Consortium (NOIC) to support our area members and the entire glass industry. Last week, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (pictured in photo by Scott Cooper, CelSian), Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Development Director, Lydia Mihalik announced that NOIC has received a $31.3M/4-year state grant to develop an Innovation Hub and Center for Glass Excellence in the Toledo area.
The coalition brings together industry — including GMIC members Libbey, O-I, Owens Corning, CelSian — labor, academic, community, and nonprofit partners to advance glass and solar research and workforce development in Ohio and beyond. We look forward to supporting this work on behalf of the industry, and we can’t wait to see the future results!
