Student Abstract Submissions Now Open for the 87th Glass Problems Conference
Student abstract submissions are now open for the 87th Glass Problems Conference, taking place in Toledo, Ohio.
This year’s GPC will include a Student Poster Session, giving students the opportunity to present their work to glass industry professionals, researchers, manufacturers, and technical leaders.
Abstracts are limited to 400 words.
Topics of Interest
Students are invited to submit abstracts on broad topics related to the glass industry, including:
- Furnace design and reconstruction
- Physics and chemistry of the melting process
- Modeling of glass melting and processing
- Combustion and heat transfer
- Refractories
- Safety
- Forming and shaping
- Raw materials, including engineered materials, minerals, chemicals, batching, and recycling
- Energy efficiency and management
- Environmental impact of glass
- Advanced process controls and sensors
- AI in glass manufacturing
- Sustainability and glass manufacturing
Review and Travel Support
Abstracts will be reviewed and selected for presentation by the GPC Advisory Board.
GMIC plans to provide travel support for up to 10 selected students.
